Platt and Galvin first began their love story in 2020 after initially meeting as a result of both actors playing the titular role in the Tony award-winning musical Dear Evan Hansen. After Platt stepped down from the role, Galvin was announced as his replacement in 2017, prompting a friendship that would later become a once-in-a-lifetime romance.
“We were friends for five years and right before the pandemic, we finally decided to really give it a shot. We kind of skated around it for a long time,” Platt previously told Kelly Clarkson during an appearance on her daytime talk show in 2021, per People.
He also said that he and Galvin’s relationship went from “zero to 60” very quickly, as a result of the COVID-19 pandemic, when they started “living together with my parents in our childhood home and seeing each other all the time.”
“It ended up being a beautiful time,” the People We Hate at the Wedding actor said, with Clarkson adding that the pair’s relationship “could be a movie in and of itself.”
And we can’t disagree, as Platt and Galvin are now headed down the aisle to spend forever at each other’s side.
