BC Premier David Eby answered questions from reporters Monday morning about the recent news that Parksville-Qualicum MLA Adam Walker has been kicked out of the BC NDP caucus.
“This is related to a labor relations complaint under our collective agreement,” Eby said.
“There is no criminal investigation, it is not a criminal matter. This is a worrying and serious issue.”

What the exact issue is is not explained in detail.
Eby shared that Walker’s recent stint in the news about wrestling a deer was not relevant to the decision.
“It has gone through our formal caucus leadership collective agreement investigation process and based on the conclusion of that investigation I have determined that Mr. Walker cannot continue.”
Eby said no further details will be disclosed as it is a human resources issue.
Walker responded to an interview request and spoke with Global News on Monday.
“I received a call on Sunday afternoon from BC Premier David Eby. It was a very short call that didn’t really get into the details. It’s potentially related to an investigation,” Walker said.
“I look forward to taking that investigation to arbitration so that I can clear my name and continue to serve the people of my community.”
What exactly is the issue being investigated in Walker’s eyes, he said he would not go into detail at this time.
“I don’t think it’s appropriate to talk about the details of that because the premier said it might be related to a human resources matter. Right now my goal is to do everything I can to keep serving Parksville-Qualicum as their MLA,” he said.
When questioned, Walker said he believed he had done nothing wrong.
“I hope to clear my name as soon as possible,” Walker said.
“I’m still here at UBCM, still meeting with local governments in my role as MLA.”
He also issued a press release Monday morning, which can be read on his social media pages.
Walker was elected in Parksville-Qualicum in 2020 and is the Parliamentary Secretary for the Sustainable Economy.
