Fashion East Announces Its AW23 Line-Up | 3 Emerging Designers To Know Ahead Of LFW

0 18

The build up to the approaching autumn/winter 2023 season has been “chaos, as ever” according to Fashion East’s head of projects, Raphaelle Moore. “Mainly thanks to me!” quips the platform’s founder, Lulu Kennedy.

The duo, who have facilitated the rise of new-gen London talents like KNWLS, Maximilian Davis and Chet Lo (among many, many others), today unveil a fresh line-up for autumn/winter 2023 ahead of their show at The Truman Brewery in February, comprising three designers: Standing Ground and Karoline Vitto, both returning from spring/summer 2023, plus newcomer Johanna Parv.

“It’s interesting how each of the three designers is so authentically specific to their particular aesthetic,” explains Kennedy, who loves how each designer “geeks out on the functionality and details” in their own way. Central Saint Martins alum Johanna Parv’s athletic aesthetic and “super modern clean lines and colours” really stood out during the selection process, Kennedy says. “Johanna doesn’t want you to compromise your look just because you are cycling to work,” Moore says.

Autumn/winter 2023 will be the first time in a while that Fashion East has presented an exclusively womenswear line-up – former fixture Jawara Alleyne was the last to show a unisex offering. Michael Stewart of Standing Ground will return with his mesmerising gowns – the floor-sweeping styles from last season have already been seen on the red carpet – and Karoline Vitto with her size inclusive dresses and separates.
