0 19

The liberation of X saw is in a few days, and a new clip shows people talking about Jigsaw’s latest torture device. Everyone’s favorite puppet returns Friday in the franchise’s tenth film, set between the events of the 2004 original and Saw II. We’ve seen quite a few puzzles and traps designed by the serial killer, but this device takes the torment to a new level.

X saw marks the return of Tobin Bell as John Kramer, who did not appear in the 2021 spinoff Spiral. Taking place following the original film; John travels to Mexico for an experimental procedure to treat his cancer. When he learns that his operation was a scam, he wants revenge on those who took advantage of him.

Like Jigsaw, he begins designing torture devices to give these fake surgeons a well-deserved “wake-up call.” A particular device, briefly presented in the X saw trailer, was highlighted in a recent clip, and it’s sneaky! If you have any doubts about this last entry in the Saw saga, this should put them to rest.

Jigsaw designed a device that straps his victim to a motorized chair, which he reserved for Mateo, one of his fake surgeons. In the clip, we see two wire panels on either side of Mateo’s face that appear connected to a ring around his forehead. At one point, the panels appear to release steam or heat which burns the victim. Not particularly pleasant.

A television screen next to the chair shows a camera pointed at the top of his partially shaven head. The puppet then brings Mateo a tray full of surgical tools, so you can probably see where this is going. In the full trailer, you can see that Jigsaw forces him to have brain surgery to have any chance of surviving.

What other torture devices will be present X saw?

Jigsaw and its imitators have created dozens of innovative torture devices and puzzles around the world. Saw franchise, and fans can expect plenty more to appear in I saw X. Some new devices will torture victims by breaking their fingers and sucking out their eyeballs. Also, in addition to brain surgery, moviegoers will witness an amateur amputation and a ton of blood!

So see X saw in theaters this weekend, or not. The choice is yours.
