“You will own nothing and you will be happy.”
If you’re concerned at all about The Great Reset, the World Economic Forum or Klaus Schwab then you’re familiar with this phrase. I’m here to break some news to people, though, especially those who have taken concern over that phrase to an unhealthy level.
The World Economic Forum (WEF) does not control the world and Klaus Schwab is not a global puppet master running our government.
Does the WEF have some kooky ideas? Absolutely.
Is Schwab creepy? Seems so to me.
None of that means he’s running Canada or any other country and he definitely isn’t orchestrating the pandemic. I say this as someone who has written about the WEF and Schwab in the past. I’ve also written about my concerns regarding the ideas of people like George Soros, the plans of the United Nations Agenda 21 program and more.
All of these are real issues and people that anyone concerned about democracy and national sovereignty should be concerned about but they’re not in control. Canada remains a robust democracy despite all of its problems and that means we have elected officials in charge and when elections decide it is time for a change, we have a peaceful and orderly transition of power.
Are some politicians or parties more aligned with people like Schwab or Soros? Do some see the goals of the WEF and UN as something to aspire to?
Justin Trudeau and his deputy prime minister, Chrystia Freeland, fit that description. Freeland is aligned with Soros and has interviewed him several times. She even appears to have introduced Trudeau to Soros.
Trudeau gave a keynote address to the WEF meeting in Davos in January 2016 just three months after being elected. It was mostly filled with affirmations and empty platitudes but he was a rock star at the meeting because he and most of those in attendance see the world through the same lens, not because he is the puppet of some shady organization now controlling our capital.
As I’ve said for more than a decade in columns, on TV and radio, there is no secret cabal of people controlling the planet. If you want to claim the WEF, the Bilderbergers or the Pentaverate are controlling the world, it doesn’t matter to me just know that it isn’t true.
I’ve spent more than 20 years covering politics and have watched the Chretien, Martin, Harper and Trudeau governments up close. At the provincial level I’ve covered to varying degrees the Bouchard, Landry and Charest governments in Quebec. In Ontario the Eves, McGuinty, Wynne and Ford governments. All of this has given me a great insight into how governments work.
People like to think that governments are capable of organizing vast conspiracies. They’re not. They can’t organize small conspiracies, never mind big ones.
Too many people think the government is like an episode of West Wing when in reality it’s more like an episode of Veep.
As for these external oganizations such the WEF or UN, the so-called globalists who are running the world, they do what they do in the open. They’re participating in the battle of ideas. The way to oppose those ideas is with better ideas not by falsely claiming these people or organizations run the world.

The political actions of highly wealthy people like Soros, or the Koch brother on the right, should be carefully examined. These are people who spend enormous amounts on election campaigns and not-for-profit groups to spread their ideas. Anyone doing that deserves scrutiny.
They’re not the elected officials though and they’re not the ones in charge. If people are trying to convince you otherwise, watch an episode of Veep to see how governments normally operate and drop the idea of the grand conspiracy.
It isn’t happening.
