Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Tuesday lashed out at the Congress-led Rajasthan government, saying Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot’s magic in the state is disappearing with every turn of the ‘red diary’ page.
Modi’s comments came at a rally in Rajasthan’s Baran in the final stretch of pre-election campaigning. The chief minister alleged that the ‘red diary’ contained details of how the state’s land, forests and water had been sold in the last five years.
“Right now, Red diary is being talked about and Jadugar ji’s face is fading with every turn of the page of the red diary. In this red dairy, it is clearly written how your land, water and forest have been sold,” Modi said.

During its campaigns, the Bharatiya Janata Party referred to the ‘Red Diary’ and its contents which reportedly contained allegedly offensive material against the Ashok Gehlot-led government and his administration several times.
“With the support of the Congress, the morale of the anti-social forces is high. People in Rajasthan are beheading in public and it is celebrated. The whole country saw what happened to the Dalit youth in Jhalawar. Ram Navami, Holi, Hanuman Jayanti have been victims of riots in Rajasthan which is known for festivals,” PM Modi further said.

“It has been 75 years since India’s independence. Today, we have before us the goal of a ‘developed India’. The objective of making India developed is incomplete without making Rajasthan developed. But as long as the three enemies of the country – corruption, dynasty and appeasement – are in our midst, it will be difficult for this resolution to be fulfilled until then. Congress is the biggest symbol of these three evils,” PM Modi said.
