Prince Harry, Meghan Markle umbrella photo in New York a throwback to famous images taken on Australia tour and at Endeavour Awards
The Duke and Duchess of Sussex are the epitome of romance, and have the pictures to prove it.
Not only do they stick through thick and thin together, they do it while fighting injustices within centuries-old institutions.
This week, they have been honoured by the Robert F. Kennedy Human Rights organisation, awarded the ‘Ripple of Hope’ award in recognition of their work on racial justice, mental health, and other social impact initiatives through their Archewell Foundation.

The Sussexes arrived to collect their award in person at the ceremony in New York on Tuesday night local time (Wednesday morning in Australia), with Meghan wearing a white off-the-shoulder gown with a front split, a custom creation from Louis Vuitton.
Harry wore a dark navy blue suit to complement his wife’s stunningly bright look, but that is not the only way he complemented her.
In true princely fashion, Harry made sure to hold an umbrella over his wife’s head as she stepped out of their vehicle and onto the blue carpet.
This isn’t the only time the couple have protected each other from the elements.
The moment reminding us of the then-newlywed couple’s 2018 visit Down Under, with Meghan protecting her new husband from the rain while he addressed the people of Dubbo.
The couple made headlines at the time for the loving look Meghan had for Harry as he acknowledged the struggles the drought-stricken community faced at a community BBQ in Victoria Park.

A few years later, the couple had another romantic rain moment that resulted in an iconic photo they themselves love.
The Duke and Duchess of Sussex were attending the Endeavour Fund Awards in March 2020, one of their last engagements as senior working royals, when the iconic picture was taken.

Complete with angelic backlighting, perfectly placed raindrops in the background, their shared grasp around the umbrella handle, and their signature look of love looks like a poster for the latest rom-com.
Even the photographer, Samir Hussein, has testified that the Sussexes love the photo as much as we do.
