Queen Elizabeth funeral: Sophie, Countess of Wessex’s funeral dress details include subtle tribute to the Queen
Like many in the royal family, Sophie, the Countess of Wessex found the perfect way to pay subtle tribute to her late mother-in-law, Queen Elizabeth, during her funeral.
The countess, who was said to have had a very close relationship with the Queen, specifically customised the dress she wore to Monday’s funeral to include intricately hand-embroidered floral tributes of the monarch’s favourite flowers.
The designer of the dress, Suzannah London, posted some behind-the-scenes photos of the countess’ dress being made, including some action shots of the embroidery being done.

The Queen’s funeral wreath also held a meaningful tribute from her wedding day to the late Prince Phillip.
The wreath not only contained some of the Queen’s favourite flowers – cut, at King Charles’ request, from the gardens of Buckingham Palace, Clarence House and Highgrove House – but it also contained some myrtle grown from the sprig that was used in the Queen’s wedding bouquet in 1947.
