It’s been over a month since Halo Bearers received the news they’ve been waiting for, but status updates on the Warrior nun Trilogies have been rare since. Of course, the strikes played a huge role in slowing down the rollout of news, castings, and potential story directions, but there is finally a light at the end of this particular tunnel.
Showrunner and executive producer Simon Barry has yet to be officially confirmed as part of the creative team, but that’s surely on the horizon now that the WGA has finally reached a deal to be fairly compensated for his work. In the meantime, producer Dean English has shouldered the burden of dropping tantalizing information, although he has hardly been prolific in this regard.
It was only a few weeks ago that he ominously declared that answers wouldn’t be available until February of next year, but his most recent social media at least indicates that things are finally moving behind the scenes.
The two most important cogs of the Warrior nun machine are Barry and star Alba Baptista, so you’d imagine the feature trilogy’s backers will be pulling out all the stops to try and get them on board as quickly as possible. Fans will inevitably rebel if one or two of them are missing, putting English in a very curious position as virtually the only person to generate enthusiasm, although he is severely limited by what he can and cannot say in the current industry circumstances.
