Woman falls 50 meters to death during vigil on NSW South Coast

A woman has died after falling 50 meters from her watch on the NSW South Coast.

Emergency crews were called to McKenzie’s Saddle Walking Track in Buangala about 11.45am on Monday.

Local police, police rescue and the TOLL rescue helicopter attended, where they found the body of a woman at the bottom of the search after a short time.

NSW Police confirmed a rescue operation was underway to recover the woman’s body.

A report will be prepared for the coroner.

McKenzie Saddle is located approximately 25 km west of Nowra.

The lookout is accessible from the Old Barrier Fire Trail off Yalwal Road and offers scenic views of the Yalwal State Forest.
