Its classrooms, labs, libraries and halls are better than Delhi’s private schools, he said.
“In the past, the condition of government schools in Delhi used to be terrible. Classes were held inside tents, the ceilings of the schools were broken. There were no toilets or facilities even drinking water. The poor families are forced to send their children to such schools but the AAP government has bridged the gap between the rich and the poor in education in Delhi,” Kejriwal said.
He further said that the AAP government is committed to improving the schools run by the Municipal Corporation of Delhi.
“We have started focusing on the redevelopment of MCD schools and it will take at least five to seven years. There are people who have got good education but are unemployed, we are also focusing on that issue. We will prioritize creating opportunities in work for the youth,” he said.
