Pet owner uses Grindr to try and find missing cat in Brighton

It seems there isn’t much we wouldn’t do for our pets – especially when they’ve gone missing.
One UK pet owner in particular took extreme measures when they decided to search for their missing pet in on the popular dating app Grindr.
A message under the profile said, “A bit strange but our house cat has gone missing. If anyone has seen this cat please message me to let me know, it would be a great help.”

According to The Argus, the profile for the cat describes the lost feline as 23, white and with an average body build.
It also says that the cat is single and ‘looking for dates and relationships’.
The cat has been described as ‘chill, curious, goofy’ and enjoys ‘karaoke, movies, music and reading’.
A twitter user contacted the The Argus to help find the profile owner of the missing cat.
It seems however, this cat owner is not the first to try this method in finding their missing pet.

In 2014, a pet owner in Philadelphia, USA, took the same measures to find their missing cat, Jack.
The American man, Kene Yo, didn’t just use Grindr however. He used another dating app called Scruff too.
Yo was successful on finding little Jack thanks to the two apps.
He shared a heartfelt post on Facebook to announce Jack’s return saying, “PROOF THAT SHARING AND CARING MAKE A DIFFERENCE! Jack The Cat IS BACK!! Thanks to all the sharing on Facebook, Twitter, Grindr, Scruff, Skout, and many special thanks to the ones who did share and care. As for the person who found Jack, Jenna and her boyfriend are angels for building Jack a little outdoor home. 72 hours later and Jack gets to appreciate heat, water, poops, food, and lots of LOVE.”

Although the English pet owner has tried this ‘cat fishing’ technique, it’s unknown if they’ve had any success in locating the missing cat.
