In one of the highest-profile hires of the 2024 election cycle, NBC News is tapping former Republican National Committee Chairwoman Ronna McDaniel as an on-air contributor.
McDaniel will debut on NBC on Sunday Meet the pressand will appear on NBC, MSNBC and NBC News Now.
McDaniel, the former head of the Michigan Republican Party, took over as chair of the RNC in 2017. She resigned last month and Sunday’s interview will be the first since she left the RNC. A source says conversations about the interview began long before she was hired as a contributor.
NBC News Senior Vice President of Policy Carrie Budoff Brown announced McDaniel’s hiring Friday.
