Tung says Westman Atelier’s Skin Activator “saves the day” when she has dry patches, while Lauren London appreciates Purpl and Prosper’s Calm Complexion Serum. “Growing up, I don’t remember any Black-owned skin products around my household,” she says. “Now, it’s available, it’s out there. It’s skin products that actually understand what’s going on.”

Celebrity freezers have beauty secrets of their own: “Big silver balls; I always have mine in the freezer,” says Horan of his depuffing Hani Emi Cryo Globes. Amelia Gray gets a cooling, lymphatic-drainage assist with Nurse Jamie’s GlowGlobe; Anok Yai keeps her face wands on ice, too.

Red-light therapy has seeped into celebrity skincare, and Phoebe Tonkin takes her LED with a spiritual twist: “I put this [Light Therapy Mask] on, and then I put on a 10-minute meditation or manifestation,” she says.

Not even the best security detail can shield an A-lister from UV rays. Jennifer Garner incorporates SPF into her regime with Neutrogena’s Hydro Boost, while Carlacia Grant favors Black Girl Sunscreen. Mindy Kaling slathers on Supergoop!, while Grande has taken to mixing her EltaMD SPF with La Mer moisturizer. While reaching for her own moisturizer, Rae notes: “In my twenties, I didn’t see specific skincare products for Black people. [Dr. Barbara Sturm’s Darker Skin Tones Face Cream] immediately appealed to me.”

Celebrities follow their face mists with a little something for the lips. Kanza sleeps with Fenty’s Skin Plush Puddin’ on, while Leigh-Anne Pinnock says that Carmex balm is “the only thing that really works.” Kylie Jenner keeps her famous pout smooth with Sugar Lip Scrub, while Usher’s La Mer lip balm is “very precious” to him. “No one likes dry lips, right?” he asks. 

Nor a dry complexion.
